Thank you for your interest in The Guardian Network Training!
The Guardian Network Training is a free, full day, suicide prevention training designed specifically to support Ontario’s agricultural community. This training is for those who are likely to be in contact with farmers through work, volunteer activities, or their place in their community. This training focuses on skill-building through role-playing and case discussions, using real-life examples from agriculture.
What you’ll learn:
- How to identify when someone may be struggling with their mental health and/or experiencing thoughts of suicide.
- How to respond supportively and check for the presence of suicidal thoughts.
- Increased awareness of mental health resources and knowing how to direct someone in distress or at-risk to suicide to local, provincial, and national mental health resources that can help.
- Respecting your own personal limits as a trained Guardian.
If you would like to learn more about The Guardian Network before deciding if it’s the right training for you, please reach out to Priyanka Gupta, Program Outreach Coordinator, <
